How can I enroll my dog?
If you feel that your dog meets
all of our requirements, the
first step is to fill out our
online application. Once we
receive it, you will be
contacted within two business
days to schedule a time for a
temperament evaluation and
socialization. This will
include ˝ day of day care. In
the meantime, we ask that you
make sure your dog is current
with his/her vaccinations
(Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella).
We will need proof of this
during the evaluation.
Why do I have to have my dog
attend daycare before boarding? Since the majority of your dogs'
overnight stay will be spent
interacting with other dogs, we
want to make sure he /she will
be having a fun time. For this
reason, we require new clients
to attend daycare for a minimum
of ˝ day prior to staying
overnight with us. During this
visit your dog will become
familiar with our environment
and staff, so it won't be a big
deal if you are away for 5 hours
or 5 days. This also gives staff
a chance to get to know your dog
and any special needs they might
have before staying overnight
with us. If at anytime during
your dog's introductory visit
he/she is having a tough time,
we will be able to contact you
immediately.
What is Dog Daycare?
At dog daycare, your dog spends
the day playing (always with
supervision) with other dogs
that we match him/her with
considering temperament, size
and energy levels.
Do all dogs like daycare?
No... Some dogs don't do
well at dog day care... just
like some people don't like
crowds! We'll do all
we can to make it a happy
and fun experience, but please
don't be disappointed if
your dog doesn't qualify at
his/her socialization stay.
Can any
dog play?
Well, almost...
-
Dogs four months or older
-
People and dog friendly dogs
that are not protective of
food, toys or space
-
Healthy Dogs - All dogs must
have current DHLPP, Rabies
and Bordetella (Kennel
Cough) vaccinations. Bordetella vaccine
is available in six and
twelve month doses. We
also recommend the canine
flu vaccine.
-
Spayed or neutered dogs;
however puppies younger than
seven months may attend
without being "fixed."
-
All dogs (sleepover and
daycare) must pass a
temperament evaluation.
-
All dogs must be on flea
prevention program.
Why do you require a temperament
evaluation? For the safety of everyone, it
is important that all dogs
interact positively together.
For this reason, we require that
all dogs pass a temperament
evaluation. We want to make sure
that the dogs that attend Puppy
Tubs B&B Pet Resort are able to get along
with humans (staff), large
groups of dogs, and are OK away
from home. Dogs that are
anxious, nervous or frightened
would not enjoy themselves. Most
importantly, we want this to be
a fun and safe experience for
your pups.
What happens in a temperament
evaluation?
During the
first phase of the evaluation,
we will sit down and discuss
your dogs' history (previous
owners, socialization,
interactions with other dogs,
etc.). In the second phase of
the interview your dog will be
gradually introduced to other friendly
dogs. We will
monitor your dogs' body language
and reactions during these
interactions. If all goes well,
your dog is accepted into the
Puppy Tubs B&B pack.
How do I schedule a temperament
evaluation?
If you feel that your dog meets these requirements, please
fill out our
online application.
Applications take 2-3 days to
process, and someone will
contact you about setting up a
time to meet.
